“I love to teach both Middle and Upper students and see them improving their skills and concepts in ceramics.”

In Yonghwi Kim’s ceramics studio, students may create elegant tea pots or vases with ancient Egyptian symbols. Yonghwi, originally from South Korea, began teaching at Poly in 2006. He earned an M.F.A. from C.W. Post, Long Island University. Each year when we honor faculty for significant anniversaries in teaching, each honoree receives a unique ceramics piece crafted by Yonghwi. In the past, Yonghwi and his wife, Bokyoung Kim, a painter, have exhibited their work in our Tower Gallery.
